Origin Of Different Types Of Salt

Salt is one of the most important cooking ingredients. Here is the origin of different types of salt that are available for consumption. There is no one type of salt that we should consume. It depends on multiple factors. To understand these factors, We need to first understand where these salts come from !!! Each of them offers a different type of benefit including table salt.

Himalayan pink salt is a naturally occurring form of rock salt extracted from mines located at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in the Punjab region of Pakistan most of it coming from Khewra salt mines.

Black Salt is also known as Kala Namak. Black Salt (Himalayan black salt) is not a naturally occurring salt. It is prepared by mixing Himalayan pink salt with charcoal, herbs, bark, and seeds and then fired in a furnace for 24 hours to 707 degrees Celsius.
