Himalayan pink salt is a naturally occurring form of rock salt extracted from mines located at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in the Punjab region of Pakistan most of it coming from Khewra salt mines.
Black Salt is also known as Kala Namak. Black Salt (Himalayan black salt) is not a naturally occurring salt. It is prepared by mixing Himalayan pink salt with charcoal, herbs, bark and seeds and then fired in a furnace for 24 hours to 707 degree Celsius.

Table salt is typically mined from underground salt deposits or sea water. They are heavily processed to eliminate minerals. Most table salt also has added iodine, an essential nutrient that helps maintain a healthy thyroid.
