Venom: Let There Be Carnage is one of Sony’s best bets at redeeming their Sony Spiderverse and the official trailer of the second movie is out. Venom 2 might not be an MCU film but it sure has some good character development and Spiderman Villains that have a great screen and commercial value. The trailer starts with a glimpse of what looks like an Origin for the Carnage story and Venom being more of an anti-hero than a fully fleshed-out Villain. As we can see in the trailer, Eddie Brock has not fully come to term with a Symbiote living in his body. Check out the trailer below:
The movie is directed by Andy Serkis and is a sequel to the 2018 hit Venom. The movie will follow the trails of characters developed in San Francisco and will also feature some scenes in New York. Carnage as we all know is formed as on offspring that springs out of the Venom symbiote and bonds with Cletus Casady who is a psychopath killer.
The hype is real as the franchise has a legit fanbase and it looks more like a 90’s style superhero movie, which is also a good thing. There have been a few hints at the Marvel multiverse. There is a shot of a newspaper in the trailer which mentions the Avengers. Is Sony trying to imply that MCU characters exist somewhere in the multiverse? And there is also a chance that Sony might be able to get away with a few things but not in contradiction to Marvel’s main universe. We are all very excited as this is a hint to the multiverse and it might also losely connect to Spiderman No Way Home. We as fans are very excited as we might be seeing much-anticipated action soon. This might be a big screen affair. The movie comes out on September 2021.
